FBI agents at the Louisville station have recently been involved in the successful apprehension of two Iraqi men attempting to establish a terror cell in Bowling Green. The two men turned out to be former insurgents who had operated in Iraq, and one admitted to the construction of 10 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and the shooting of a U.S. soldier in a guard tower. Additionally, the two men acted under the belief that they were shipping money and weapons to Iraqi insurgents, when in fact they were caught up in an FBI sting operation. With the completion of this case, the Louisville Division can celebrate an accomplishment of their number one priority: to protect the United States from another terrorist attack.
